In this section, you will get general information about AIS:
- hardware and network requirements;
- how to install AIS into your servers;

Amazonia Integrated System (AIS) is a multi user system. AIS can be run on Windows platform as well as thru web browser. It consists of the following modules: Sales, Purchases, Inventory Control, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Banking, Payroll, Shipping, Product Catalogs, Data Exchange, and Reports.
It also integrates portable devices (Pocket PC, Tricoder, Palm) for data exchange, barcodes, and labeling. AIS API client can access data from VFP, MS-SQL, Oracle, and mySQL, that is, changing only one line of Ais.ini file, the AIS can access any of chosen database. ODBC drivers are used for both MSSQL and mySQL choices.

E-Commerce

Overview

AIS Web Modules are designed for ecommerce with full integration to other AIS modules. That means, you never enter the same information twice. With AIS web modules you can easily manage all the conveniences that the internet offers to your business plus the advantage of full integration to your existing data.

There are currently five modules being developed, each one tailored to different type of users. Each logged in user will be directed to a specific site.

Other AIS client users can enjoy the compatibility of your company's data with their data, and have a greater interaction than other types of users. Your customers will have access to your products list, submit a sales order, bid for special sales items, and check the shipping status. Your vendors can check if your company placed an order, access to inventory status of products they sell exclusively to your company if your company allows such access and access to items you need by bidding these items. You can also save on shipping costs by letting potential shipper to submit their bids. Your employees or outside salespeople can access certain information at real time so that they can verify what is the inventory status, check for the customer list, verify customer's A/R status, submit a sales order, and let outside salespeople to submit their expenses directly into your database cutting greatly the data entry time.

Symbology Used in AIS

1. Create a universal system to remember several Ids, passwords, categories, etc. to make your job move easily.
2. When you click Open and press F2 on keyboard, you will see the entire list of this file, such as products, customers and others
3. When a number is listed between < >, you can double click it to see more detailed information of this selected number
4. You can either press Enter or Tab key to move from one box to the next
5. When you are listing items in separate lines, click previous item to highlight and press Insert to move to the next line
6. You can use arrow keys in your keyboard to move from one letter or number within the box.
7. Click Exit or X on upper right corner to close a window
8. Click Help button in case you need a quick assistance

How to move cursor

In general, you need a mouse in order to run AIS program more efficiently. In some cases when it is difficult for you to use mouse, then you can use a combination of keys to move around the screen. For ex.: To reach a botton, you may press Alt+underlined letter to reach the botton, or press Ctrl+Tab to move form folder to botton. As you will see, Windows based programs do need mouse to run. DOS based program users don't feel comfortable to use mouse in the beginning, but once you get accustomed to, you will find out it is worth to have mouse to navigate through any Windows based programs.

What Each Color Mean

In general, white fields mean you may enter or edit data. Green means you may press F2 function key to display and search for the record you are looking for. Blue means you may only view data, and you can't change the information inside the blue field. Gray means the field is deactivated, that is, the cursor will not go to any of gray boxes.

How to work with Microsoft Fax program

Users with old version of AIS as well as Windows OS which support Microsoft Fax can integrate AIS and Microsoft Fax. In order to setup, go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Mail, Service Tab, Properties, Under Default, Cover Page Check if you want to include Cover Page, or uncheck if you don't want to include cover page.

HOW TO INSTALL AIS

Getting Started

Double click on AIS icon to start. The very first step is to create all data files necessary to run this module. To create the data files, go to AIS Setup module. You will be required to enter password. Your password for any module in the beginning is set up as "AIS". You may change later, when you become more familiar with the AIS software. Click on License Agreement, and read carefully. If you agree with the terms you may continue. Otherwise, uninstall the whole AIS software.
